Curious to slow down and explore a more meditative approach to making? Join us for a hands-on introduction to Nerikomi, a beautiful clay marbling technique with roots in ancient ceramic traditions of Japan.

You’ll be introduced to the Nerikomi method, learning how to blend and layer two-toned clay to create striking, one-of-a-kind patterns. With live demonstrations, plenty of guidance, and time to experiment, you’ll be encouraged to play, explore, and let the process unfold naturally.

Using your patterned clay, you’ll then build your own ceramic vessel, plate, or bowl, completing 1–2 finished pieces during the session.

What’s Included:

• A guided introduction to the Nerikomi clay marbling technique

• Hands-on time blending and patterning two-toned clay

• 2 completed ceramic pieces

Additional Costs:

You’re welcome to keep two pieces from this workshop at no additional firing cost. Any additional works can be finished for $10 per piece, which covers glazing, handling, and two firings by our studio team. Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup a few weeks after the session.
