Class Time: 1:00pm – 3:30pm
Teacher: Charlotte Watson
Class Type: Porcelain Hand Building
Date: October 17th
Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate
More Info: Already familiar with pinching or hand-building and curious to take your practice further? Join artist and ceramicist Charlotte Watson for a hands-on session exploring the unique qualities of porcelain.
Charlotte will guide you in translating your existing skills to this beautiful and refined clay — learning how its smooth, fine texture behaves differently, and how to work with it rather than against it. With live demonstrations, thoughtful guidance, and plenty of time to settle into the process, you’ll be encouraged to slow down, deepen your practice, and enjoy the meditative rhythm of making with a new material.
The fine texture of porcelain rewards slow, careful work — it can’t be rushed — making this a wonderful opportunity to refine your touch and expand your hand-building repertoire.
What’s Included:
- A guided introduction the unique qualities of porcelain for hand building
- Hands-on time shaping and refining the pieces you make
- 2 completed ceramic pieces
Additional Costs:
You’re welcome to keep two pieces from this workshop at no additional firing cost. Any additional works can be finished for $10 per piece, which covers glazing, handling, and two firings by our studio team. Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup a few weeks after the session.
